英語の勉強で、文法や単語の勉強方法は教材もあるので比較的やりやすいと思いますが、自分自身で発音の勉強となるとどうしたらいいかな？という方多いかもしれませんね。
「シャドーイング」という言葉を聞いたことがありますか？
耳から聞こえてきた音をそのまま言ってみる、という勉強方法です。シャドーとは影という意味ですが、影のように後から追いかけて口に出し、同じように発音し真似する英語学習法。
実はこれは、通訳になる方たちがよく使っている訓練法らしいです。
テキストなど本屋さんでも売られているようですが、教材を買わなくても洋楽で充分代用が出来ます。
最初はあまり早い曲などは大変なので、定番のCarpentersやBeatlesなどからはスタートしやすいかもしれません。
まずは歌詞を見ながら曲を聞いて、単語と単語の繋がり方やRとLなど間違えやすいところ、発音をチェック。
そして次は実際に口に出して、音楽に合わせて自分で発音をまねて歌ってみる。
コレを何度も繰り返すという簡単な方法ですが、
・リズムとイントネーションがきれいになる
・発音がよくなる
・英語のスピードに慣れることができる
・単語の聞き取り力アップにつながる
のです。
口真似以外にも
・英語の歌詞を自分なりに訳してみて、分からない単語は調べる。
・自分で訳したものと、日本語訳を比較してみる。
これをすると語彙力、そして英語ならではの言い回しなども分かってきます。
机に座って、という事も必要なく通勤・通学時間を利用したり、なによりも身近で好きな音楽で勉強出来るというのが長く続けられるコツかもしれません。
ここで、中・高校レベルの単語、文法も「仮定法」「未来形」。そして単語の聞き取りもしやすい曲をご紹介します。
